Sunday 5 February 2012

Hi again, and thank you for taking the time to see what the Lord is doing in my life as I serve Him through Gospel for Asia. I couldn't be here without your support and prayers, and I thank the Lord that you are part of my life and calling.

Last year our UK office fully supported 688 National Missionaries and 2,704 Bridge of Hope children for the year. We also got 3,107 Bibles printed, 16,574 New Testaments, over 2 million Gospel tracts, bought 3 film projector kits, 4 church buildings, and helped 1953 Dalit families break the cycle of poverty. That's what your involvement is accomplishing! Thank you.

I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year. I had the privilege of spending them with Angie's family and friends in Washington, and had a fantastic time seeing where she grew up and who she grew up with. They all treated me as a member of the family and I felt extremely welcome. I had a lot of fun with her parents:

...and I had the chance to visit lots of interesting places, such as the Seattle Space Needle:

...the Museum of Flight:

...a Guitar Exhibition:

...and a beautiful town in the mountains:

I was even given the opportunity to serve Angie's parents a traditional Vietnamese lunch!

A highlight was a surprise engagement party organised by Angie's sister and friend:

...which involved myself, Angie, and Angie's parents being dressed up in toilet paper suits:

I had a brilliant time, and I am thankful to the Lord for it, as well as for such an enjoyable group of people whose lives I am connected to through Angie.

Back at the office we have been blessed by an increased regularity in Office Volunteers:

Please pray for us to be able to give the Office Volunteers the right roles that would make the best use of their time and skills, as we want to help them serve God as effectively as they can.

I am also very involved in organising conferences and Conference Volunteers:

Please pray that I would do this well, these conferences result in many Christians hearing about how unreached Asia is, and what the Lord is doing through National Missionaries, and an increase in sponsorships.

Helen White is currently raising her support to be able to serve with us as a GFA staff member:

Please also remember her in your prayers as she relies on the Lord and follows through with making contacts and recruiting pray-ers and supporters.

In case you are wondering, wedding plans are going well!

Angie has lots of great ideas and is very good at getting things sorted out. We have been blessed by quite an easy time in wedding prep, which I think is largely because Angie is so easy going! Please do keep us in your prayers as we seek to honour and glorify God in our marriage.

Thanks again for being a part of my life. Your prayers for me are being heard, and they are very valuable to me. Thank you for your protection.

God bless you all,

JP
